Combat Candy solidarity statement

Dear customers,

We want to be clear about something that matters to us.

Combat Candy is not a neutral company. It never has been. This business exists because real people built it, work for it, and support it. Our values do not stop at the warehouse door or the checkout page.

Today we stand with the general strike in Minnesota and the communities demanding an end to ICE’s harm.

We are openly opposed to ICE and the systems of immigration enforcement that rely on detention, family separation, and the criminalization of migration. This position is not symbolic and it is not vague. It is intentional.

There is a common idea that businesses should stay out of politics. We do not believe that is honest. Every business makes value decisions every day. Who gets hired. Who gets protected. Whose labor is invisible. Whose suffering is considered acceptable collateral. Silence is not neutrality. It is alignment with whatever already exists.

Combat sports, fitness, and labor driven spaces are built by immigrants and working class communities. Many of the strongest gyms, teams, kitchens, factories, and training rooms in this country are held together by people who live with constant uncertainty and fear. To profit from those communities while refusing to speak when they are harmed would be a choice. We refuse to make that choice.

This company is not separate from its founders. Our ethics show up in how we source, how we speak, and what we are willing to say out loud. If those values disappeared the moment money entered the picture, they would not be values at all.

The organizations we support will be public information and shared on a rotating basis through our story posts, so customers can see exactly where funds are going and why.

We understand this stance will not be for everyone. Some people will choose not to support us because of it. We accept that. Alignment matters more to us than broad appeal.

If you are here because you believe businesses have a responsibility to the people and communities they benefit from, we are glad you are with us. If this letter gives you pause, we respect your right to decide what you support.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for expecting more from the brands you choose. And thank you to the communities who have always done the work, often without protection, recognition, or safety.

With clarity and care,
Lucy & Lou
